Leak Investigation and Repair
From small drips to full leaks, our Water Proofing team has seen it all. We have years of experience in identifying the source of the leak and providing the adequate solution to the problem. One of the largest leak repairs we have taken on was the full leak repair of the Civic Building in Christchurch.

Sealant Application
The Civic Building, which houses the Christchurch City Council, is a heritage building which was badly leaking through the rusty steel window frames. The project had lots of unknowns and the investigation process relied heavily on estimations and risk management as this type of work had not been done before.

With all the risks taken into account, our team presented our recommendations for the repair to the City Council which included:

  • Removing over 400 panels of glass
  • Applying full rust protection coating to steel frames
  • Re-installing glass
  • Applying of sealant between glass and frame
  • Full painting of building and frames

Our health and Safety procedures had to be immaculate as hundreds of pieces of glass were carefully removed and replaced after the frames were given a thorough rust protective coating.

The building was sealed for leaks and the results were outstanding.
At the end of this project we were told by City Council Officials:
“Goleman Ltd‘s attention to details, fluent communication, impressive Health and Safety Procedures and prompt response to our needs have made this project so rewarding”

Sealant Application on large scale
The need to prolong the life span of large concrete structures such as chimney stacks or preventing porous stone from soaking moisture during the wet months prompts our maintenance division to engage in large scale Silicone Sealant Application. We have a large variety of Silicone Products to choose from and we can recommend which sealant to use based on the assets requirements.

Hi Rise Glazing
The use of Industrial Rope Access as the preferred access method has grown as more and more BMU and descending work platforms have been taken out of commission due to high maintenance costs. Facilities Managers nowadays require abseilers to perform larger tasks off ropes and our team has adapted to the growing demand. At present, we are capable of glazing large panes of glass while on the ropes.

Large Scale Rust Treatment and Painting
Part of our capabilities is to provide asset managers with the full Rust Treatment and Painting for structures other than buildings such as Port Cranes and Bridges. Throughout the years we have provided Rust Protection Solutions and Painting to numerous high profile structures like the Lyttelton Port and bridges around the South Island.

New and Healthy Challenges - ‘Problems are solutions waiting to be found’
Our latest and most challenging task yet is the combined effort of Goleman Ltd and Kaefer New Zealand to introduce rope access to the power line upgrade and general maintenance.

We had managed to successfully demonstrate that rope access can be used in this project. Our teams have spent weeks in the Transpower training facility perfecting these access methods.

We are currently starting our first 15 towers in August 2009.
